Ye Chen sucked a cold breath when she heard it. She immediately floated out with Chu Tian in her arms. 

“Ye Chen” informed, “When you arrive there, the array will probably be completed. At most, I can save Lin Jianxi’s life, but I can’t promise there won’t be any irreversible damage.”

“What is the irreversible damage,”

“Don’t know.” “Ye Chen” said lightly, “I also thought about it for a long time before I died to save my life. I only knew how to break the array, but I don’t know how far the Soul Destroying Spell will harm Lin Jianxi. Maybe he will live, maybe he will die. Or maybe, he will live, but as a waste.”

Ye Chen was rendered silent.

38 abruptly sounded. “Host, if you are willing to end the task ahead of time, there is a way!”

“Mn?”

“I can use my energy to repair the damage caused by the Soul Destroying spell to Lin Jianxi, but after I do it, I can only support you for another month at most. However, Host, you must immediately leave this Time and Space with me by that time. End the task, receive points and energy, and then go to the next world. 38 was pretty proud to finally be able to help Ye Chen. It felt particularly happy.

Ye Chen didn’t answer right away. She asked “Ye Chen” in her body, “Can you contact Jiang Huai?”

“Can’t. There is an isolation device at the venue.”

Jiang Huai and Ye Chen would break the Obstruction Array for Lin Jianxi, and the Eight Yin Ghost-faced Spider would hunt the Lin Family. 

The Eight Yin Ghost-faced Spider would only be pacified after devouring the person with the most sins. In general, if Eight Yin Ghost-faced Spider appeared, the Feng Shui Association would come forward to demand the evil-doer to commit suicide to eliminate their sins. After all, a person who could give birth to an evil thing like the Eight Yin Ghost-faced Spider must have done something irredeemable. 

According to Ye Chen’s understanding over the years, the Eight Yin Ghost-faced Spider that had been pestering Lin Jianxi was the evil thing made by Lin Xuan and several people. These people, she didn’t know how many heinous things they have done secretly over the years. Even Lin Yu, who was so strong, probably was entangled with the efforts done behind his back by his father.

If the Eight Yin Ghost-faced Spiders get rid of Lin Xuan and Lin Yu, then, Lin Jianxi, the best in the Lin Family’s new generation, would naturally become the best choice for the Patriarch position. 

But now, there was some change. Back then, Ye Wenwen colluded with outsiders to kill “Ye Chen”. “Ye Chen” and Jiang Huai had laid dormant these years to catch all the perpetrators. But today, Lin Xuan used the same technique that killed “Ye Chen” back then to kill Lin Jianxi. What did this mean??

It meant that Lin Xuan had an inevitable connection with the death of “Ye Chen” that year.

Although “Ye Chen” was not liked by others, she was the star of the Feng Shui circle and the future leader of the Ye Family. If the death of “Ye Chen” had something to do with the Lin Family, the Ye Family would not let it be. 

With this change, the stake became higher and everything had to be dealt with in advance.

Ye Chen closed her eyes and sighed, “Ye Chen, I might get you involved in something soon.”

“Just do it.”

“Ye Chen”’s voice was cold and Ye Chen remembered that this person had always liked to meddle in this kind of business.

Ye Chen rushed to the arena and shortly remembered a question, why did Lin Xuan want to kill Lin Jianxi?

The Obstruction Array had gradually weakened over the years and Lin Jianxi as the vessel was not as effective as before. Ye Chen could understand that reason, but, no matter what, the Eight Yin Ghost-faced Spider was still there. Was Lin Xuan not afraid of the  Eight Yin Ghost-faced Spider?

Ye Chen arrived at the arena. At this time, Lin Yu’s array only needed the last stroke to be completed. After ”Ye Chen“ saw the full picture of the array, she shouted, “This is not the God-killing Array!”

“Yes…”

Ye Chen’s voice quivered. She also discovered it.

This wasn’t the God-killing Array. Nothing in the slightest. 

This was the array to refine Lin Jianxi into a Yin Gu!

Once Lin Jianxi became a Yin Gu, he would no longer be considered as a human. He would only be a walking magic weapon. His death became more valuable than his life!

In a flash, countless anger erupted in Ye Chen’s heart.

Lin Jianxi was his own son! His own blood! How could he do such a thing! Not only did he want him to die, but he could even make the best use of his death.

In Lin Xuan’s heart, he didn’t need to waste a God-killing array and the Soul Destroying Spell to kill a small fly like Lin Jianxi. That treatment was exclusive to a genius like “Ye Chen”.

In his eyes, this son was nothing more than a simple problem that could be solved with the Soul Destroying Spell. The arrangement of the array for him was nothing more than to refine him into Yin Gu after this.

“Lin Jianxi!”

Ye Chen roared. She put Chu Tian on the ground and rushed over! At this juncture, Lin Yu’s array was completed. He threw the whip at Lin Jianxi abruptly and retreated from the arena at the same time. Lin Jianxi turned his head when he heard her voice.

In an instant, fire rose from the ground!

The fire instantly engulfed the person standing in the arena. The red lights under the array wound up like vines, woven into a cage and locking the people inside. The fire lit up the sky, and the people around screamed. Su Wen organized people to evacuate and Jiang Huai dashed to Lin Yu who had just retreated from the arena. Lin Xuan followed after him and grabbed Jian Huai by the sleeve, entangling him. 

The scene was chaotic. Lin Yu quickly hid in the dark with an invisibility spell. Lin Xuan counted down the time as he entangled Jiang Huai. 

Lin Yu only thought of it as a killing array, but Lin Xuan clearly knew the real function of the array.

Only five minutes. In five minutes, the person in that array would become a magic weapon! With that magic weapon, Lin Xuan would be the first in the Feng Shui circle!

No one could touch him and he didn’t have to bow at anyone anymore! Even if he ran amok in the world, none could stop him!

Lin Xuan waited patiently. Everyone around him didn’t have the slightest idea of Lin Xuan’s real intention. They merely thought Lin Yu had fouled and killed his opponent. The raging fire was not ordinary fire and no one dared to approach it, let alone save the people inside the fire.

Ye Chen watched the fire cage and was restless. Ignoring Jiang Huai’s anxious shouts, she rushed into the cage. 

The blazing fire burned her spirit body, and Ye Chen used all her Spiritual Power to cover her body, resisting the pain inflicted by the fire. She searched past the fire for Lin Jianxi.

Lin Jianxi was sitting cross-legged in the fire. The fire blazed and licked his whole body, but oddly enough, the fire did not scorch his skin, as if it had grown out of his body, burning from the inside out.

His complexion was pale and cold sweat fell heavily on his face. He was obviously suffering from great pain.

Ye Chen felt a pang in her heart. Since he met her, where had he suffered so much pain and grievances? 

She flew over and hugged him, covering him with Spiritual Power from above his head, isolating the fire.

However, the fire that had entered his body could not be removed. It scurried in Lin Jianxi’s body and continuously hurt him.

Lin Jianxi felt a breath of coolness falling from the sky. He sensed he was embraced by someone and opened his eyes with difficulty. The first thing he saw was Ye Chen’s calm face. The person hugged him in her arms and scanned around with a cold gaze. She was so calm and steady, as if it was not a state of life and death that she was facing, but an ordinary duel.

She had always been like this. From the first time he met her, to countless journeys later, she was usually careless. Sometimes, she was as soft and lovely as a little girl. Even at certain moments, she seemed to have dropped her IQ somewhere and was dazedly blank. But, at critical moments, she would be the high mountain and cypress, granting people the most powerful trust and dependence.

She really had always been like this, shielding him from the wind and rain, cutting through thorns and blazing a new path through all obstacles for him. 

However, it was such strength and emotion that made him feel extremely ashamed and incompetent.

He tried so hard to grow up, but in the end, he always stood behind her and lay in her arms.

He wished to be the one holding her now, to be the one blocking her from all this suffering.

“Jie……Jie……”

He struggled to speak. He wanted to reach out and touch her, but the flames in his body seemed to have devoured his internal organs. Even breathing was now a luxury for him. 

He wanted to look at Ye Chen, but he could not move his eyes. 

And Ye Chen hugged him, flowing all her Spiritual Power on him. Protecting him while those fires bit her spirit body unscrupulously.

These were not real fires, they invaded the human body and invaded the human mind. Ye Chen was in pain from being burned by the fire, and “Ye Chen” herself was pale.

“I’m sorry…”

Ye Chen trembled. “Ye Chen” in her body glanced at her flat face, “Defending the moral principles is my responsibility. I will do the same as you.”

“But protecting him,” Ye Chen smiled bitterly, “is not your responsibility.”

“Ye Chen” was silent. She raised her eyes to look at the fires around her. 

This spirit body was no longer able to hold on, and 38 felt a little uncomfortable. Before it could speak out, Ye Chen had said, “38, hold on to this body. ”

“Mn,” 38 weakly said, “I’m holding on, but if the energy is less than 20%, we really have to go.”

Ye Chen nodded. She was shivering from pain. She looked back at the person in her body and stated, “I want to protect him. This responsibility is mine to bear.”

“Ye Chen” remained silent. She closed her eyes and inspected the array. 

Ye Chen held Lin Jianxi close. Lin Jianxi’s eyes were shut, he seemed to be struggling with something in his body, clenching his teeth and struggling.

Ye Chen’s hug tightened. In this place where there was no one, she bowed her head and kissed him. 

“You always say… I don’t like you.”

Ye Chen thought of Jun Yan and Elt and couldn’t help chuckling.

She stared at the handsome face of the young man and connected their foreheads close, “Look, don’t I like you enough now.”
